Do you need help making the product?
Genesize starts with your notes, experience and intended buyer. Use its guided AI workflow to develop a draft, add your own examples, edit the content and prepare covers and exports. Manual editing, design changes and exports use no AI credits. You still check accuracy and make sure the product contains what its description promises.
Payhip’s digital-product setup guide starts with uploading files, then adding a price, cover and description. That is a useful route when the PDF, template or other supported file is already ready. This describes the documented workflow; it is not a claim that Payhip can never add or connect to AI tools.
One practical example
A consultant wants to sell a client-onboarding guide. If it is still scattered notes, Genesize can help turn them into a structured draft and editable offer. If the reviewed PDF is finished, Payhip may cover the selling step with no fixed monthly platform charge. Both still need a clear offer and a route to buyers.
This is an illustrative decision, not a customer case study. Our AI ebook guide shows the creation steps.
You can combine tools too: export a supported file from Genesize and prepare a separate Payhip listing. Review the file and buyer delivery there. Platform-specific course progress, customer access and automations do not transfer simply because you upload a PDF.
Compare more than the download button
Genesize provides a written-course reader with manual completion and resume progress, alongside supported product downloads. It does not currently host a video classroom, grade quizzes or issue completion certificates. Communities and paid memberships are future features.
Payhip’s course help center documents video and text lessons, quizzes, assignments, downloads, drip content and certificates. Its product overview also includes memberships and coaching. Those are useful differences if they are part of your offer today.
Direct Payhip video hosting is a separate subscription: its video guide lists $5 per month for 16 hours of stored course or membership video. It also permits supported external video embeds without that hosting charge; the external service can have its own terms and costs.
Write down what buyers will receive before comparing plans. A written checklist course may fit Genesize. A program promising streamed video, graded learning tasks or certificates needs those tools. Use our course creator comparison if teaching features are central to the decision.
Genesize vs Payhip pricing and fee examples
| Plan | Monthly platform bill | Platform selling fee |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 5% |
| Plus | $29 | 2% |
| Pro | $99 | 0% |
Payhip’s pricing page says its plans share the same feature access and allow unlimited products and revenue. Payment processing remains extra. Optional hosting and external services can add costs.
Genesize Starter is $34 per month on monthly billing, or $285.60 paid upfront for a year. It includes 3 saved projects and 1,000 monthly AI credits. Creator is $58 per month on monthly billing and adds CRM, email and Growth Agent tools. Genesize takes no platform percentage of Store sales; Stripe processing applies.
What happens at different sales levels?
These calculated examples show one month’s subscription plus platform selling fees, assuming no tax is charged on the example sales. They exclude processing, refunds, payouts, AI extras, video hosting and email services. They are not sales forecasts or a comparison of identical feature bundles.
| Monthly sales before fees | Payhip Free | Payhip Plus | Payhip Pro | Genesize Starter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $0 | $0 | $29 | $99 | $34 |
| $200 | $10 | $33 | $99 | $34 |
| $1,000 | $50 | $49 | $99 | $34 |
| $4,000 | $200 | $109 | $99 | $34 |
At $200 in sales, Payhip Free’s $10 platform charge is lower than a paid subscription. At $1,000, Payhip Plus is $49 and Free is $50. At $4,000, Pro’s $99 beats Plus’s $109 within Payhip’s model. The right choice still depends on what the platform does for you.
When do Payhip’s paid plans reduce its fees?
Plus becomes cheaper than Free above about $966.67 in monthly sales: $29 ÷ (5% − 2%). Pro becomes cheaper than Plus above $3,500: ($99 − $29) ÷ 2%. At the exact thresholds, the compared plan charges are equal. This isolates Payhip’s subscription and percentage fees; other costs are excluded.
Build your full budget from the software subscription, payment processing, platform fees and services you still need. An existing finished file may need little creation help. A product built from scratch may need writing, design and export tools as well as checkout.
Payhip’s tax handling deserves a place in the comparison
Payhip’s tax documentation says it collects and remits digital EU/UK VAT and US/Canadian sales tax on eligible sales. Other taxes configured by the seller can be collected and passed to that seller to report and pay. This is a defined service, not a promise that every business tax or filing is covered.
Genesize uses connected Stripe checkout. Its terms leave responsibility for your product sales and taxes with you. Do not assume connecting a payment processor supplies the same tax service. Compare coverage for your product and buyers before switching.
Payhip also has multiple supported payment providers. Genesize’s current paid Store workflow uses Stripe. Check that the payment option you need is available for your business and country; a published storefront alone does not complete payment onboarding.
Email follow-up and working with another creator
On paid Creator and Business plans, Genesize includes CRM tags and segments, email campaigns, automated follow-ups and Growth Agent guidance. Customer marketing sending unlocks after the first eligible subscription payment. Trials support drafting and owner previews; contact and sending limits still apply.
Payhip documents customer updates and mailing-list connections. If you need a particular automated sequence, check the connected email provider and include its costs. Neither a purchase nor a contact export removes the need for appropriate marketing permission.
For joint products, Payhip’s collaboration feature supports permissions and automatic revenue shares for digital products, with PayPal requirements and limits. Genesize lets invited collaborators work in a creator-owned workspace, but compensation is arranged separately; it does not automatically split product revenue. Product editing access and payment splitting are different requirements.

Which should you choose?
- Consider Payhip Free for a finished product with uncertain sales. It keeps the fixed platform bill at zero while you test the offer.
- Consider Genesize when creating is the main work. You need to turn expertise into usable written content and connect it to an offer and checkout.
- Give Payhip’s delivery and tax features real weight. Video teaching, certificates, memberships or covered tax administration may matter more than a fee difference.
- Compare Genesize Creator when follow-up is part of the plan. Check its CRM, email and capacity against the work and tools you would otherwise need.
If your main sales path starts with a social profile, our Genesize vs Stan Store comparison covers that storefront workflow, course delivery and the email-plan differences.
Test one product before moving a store
- List the files, lesson types and access you have promised buyers.
- Prepare one offer and check the price, preview and checkout on a phone.
- Use supported previews or test flows to verify delivery and receipt recovery.
- Map existing subscriptions, customer permissions and access separately; do not assume automatic migration.
- Change live links only after the new workflow can serve the buyer.

Genesize vs Payhip FAQs
Is Genesize a Payhip alternative?
Yes, for creating and selling written digital products. Genesize combines AI product creation, editing, exports, storefronts and sales funnels. Payhip can suit a finished product, a low fixed-cost start or a buyer experience that needs its course and membership tools.
Is Payhip free to sell on?
Payhip has a permanent Free plan with no monthly platform subscription. It still charges a 5% platform fee on sales, and payment processing is extra. Optional services such as direct video hosting can add costs. A free account is different from selling at no cost.
Which is cheaper, Genesize or Payhip?
It depends on sales volume and what you need. Payhip Free has no fixed monthly platform bill; its paid plans reduce selling fees. Genesize charges a subscription for its creation-and-selling workflow. Compare the fee examples, processing, tax services, capacity and any extra tools before deciding.
Can I create in Genesize and sell through Payhip?
You can use a supported export, such as a reviewed PDF, in a separate selling workflow if it meets Payhip’s file and product rules. Check the actual buyer delivery before publishing. That does not automatically transfer course progress, customer access, subscriptions or platform-specific features.
Do Genesize and Payhip handle taxes the same way?
No. Genesize uses connected Stripe checkout and leaves product-sale tax responsibility with the seller. Payhip documents collection and remittance for specified taxes on eligible sales; other configured taxes can remain yours to report and remit. Check coverage and your remaining obligations rather than assuming every tax is covered.
Does Genesize offer a permanent free plan?
No. Eligible new subscribers can try Genesize for 14 days with 400 total AI credits and up to 3 saved projects. Payment method required; the selected subscription renews unless canceled. Live customer email campaigns need the first payment on a plan that includes email.
